The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is a global, national, and local concern, and While the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) remains a threat, We want to assure our community that Pacifica Hospital of the Valley is working closely with local, state, and federal health officials to control spread and provide needed care while continuing to safely meet the primary, specialty, and emergency healthcare needs of our patients and their families. We’re reacting quickly as this situation evolves.

Our top priority is keeping our patients, residents, visitors, and staff safe.

In one area and department of the hospital more specifically, Our team treats and cares for our residents every day. We have the training, tools, and techniques in place to isolate and care for patients who are potentially at risk for COVID-19. , it’s important for you to know that we’re working closely with the County Public Health Department, infectious disease experts, and other medical professionals to maintain the safety of our residents and our staff.

We have put into place a variety of process changes to optimize safety and minimize risk so our residents and patients can confidently plan and receive the important care they need.

HOW WE ARE KEEPING OUR HOSPITAL SAFE

Facility residents are being assessed every shift for fever and other symptoms of the virus. Changes are communicated to the attending physician for direction.

Hand hygiene observations are being conducted by facility administration to ensure that staff is performing hand hygiene at appropriate times to prevent the transmission of any infections.

We have stopped all non-essential group meetings in the facility. The essential meetings have social distancing of six feet.

Staff is required to pass a temperature and symptom screening prior to entering the work area.

Universal masking of employees, physicians and patients at all times.
